Current Materials Needed
MEMO normally does not buy things to ship to Cuba but depends on donations of things useful in the health care institutions we serve. However, recent trips have indicated a need for materials beyond hospital supplies. The following is a short list of much needed materials for our Cuban neighbours:
- Shoes (Clean and not wornout)
- Fall and spring coats for use in the psychiatric hospital
- Children's crib sheets
- Pyjamas and dressing gowns (Children and adults)
- Pillows
- School supplies (including paper and pens)
- Food blenders (For use in Homes for the Aged)
- Uniforms in good condition
- Nurses shoes
- Woman's sanitary supplies
- Working lawn mowers (For hospital grounds)
- Extension cords
- Exercise bikes (Physiotherapy)
- Sports equipment (Baseball, soccer)
- Musical instruments including electronic keyboards for music therapy.
- Educational toys
Cuba already has many broken things so we do not want to send them any more.
